Sustainable Production

Sustainably conceived. Responsibly manufactured.

We take responsibility – for materials, energy, and processes. Our sustainable plastics production is evolving step by step, driven by genuine commitment rather than empty promises.

Injection Molding Meets Sustainability

Why Sustainable Plastics Are Gaining Importance

he demand for sustainable materials is growing across industries—driven by regulatory requirements, corporate sustainability goals, and increasing environmental awareness among consumers. In plastic injection moulding, expectations for environmental compatibility and resource conservation are rising. Bio-based plastics and recycled materials are key components of more eco-friendly production. They enable a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, lower the consumption of fossil resources, and contribute to a circular economy.

Companies that embrace sustainable plastic solutions today not only enhance their image but also position themselves for the future with regard to ESG criteria (Environmental, Social, Governance), supply chain transparency, and ecological product responsibility. In many industries—including automotive, consumer goods, medical technology, and electronics—environmentally friendly materials have become a decisive competitive factor. Sustainable plastic production is no longer just a trend: it is increasingly becoming a prerequisite for participating in international markets and tenders.

FAQ

Which sustainable plastics are used in injection molding?

Both recycled plastics (recyclates) and biobased materials can be processed in injection molding. These include recycled polypropylene (rPP), recycled polyamide (rPA), and biobased materials such as PLA, PBS, or PHA. These materials help reduce fossil resource use and lower CO₂ emissions in plastic production.

Can recycled plastics be used for technical components?

Yes – when properly processed and quality-controlled, recyclates can be used for functional plastic parts in technical applications. Key factors include clearly defined material properties, process reliability, and tool-compatible part design. On request, we will evaluate whether recycled materials are suitable for your component.

What is biobased plastic?

Biobased plastics are made entirely or partially from renewable raw materials such as corn starch, sugarcane, or cellulose. They can be either biodegradable or technically durable. In industrial injection molding, they offer a climate-friendly alternative to fossil-based plastics.

How sustainable is the use of photovoltaics in plastic production?

Using photovoltaic systems reduces reliance on conventional energy sources and directly lowers CO₂ emissions per part produced. At our facility, the PV system supports the energy-intensive injection molding process and is a key step toward climate-friendly production.

What are the advantages of using sustainable plastic solutions for companies?

Sustainable plastic parts improve product carbon footprints, support ecological compliance along the supply chain (e.g., ESG or CSRD), and create competitive advantages. Companies benefit from better positioning in tenders, growing market acceptance, and greater long-term viability.
