Functional testing of an automotive plastic assembly in a specialized test fixture – quality assurance for safety-related components at Aruso-Plast

Testing fixtures for manual assembly processes

In manual assembly processes, we use specially developed testing fixtures that enable safe and efficient inspection of individual assembly steps. These fixtures are custom-built in our in-house toolshop according to customer specifications. They ensure that dimensional accuracy, positioning, and functionality can be verified directly during assembly – minimizing sources of error and ensuring consistently high quality.

Optical inline inspection during component assembly – automated checking of dimensional accuracy and standard compliance in the series production process

Integrated inspection processes in automated assembly lines

For automated processes, we rely on camera-based quality assurance, integrated sensor technology, and laser marking systems. These technologies enable seamless monitoring and documentation of each individual component in real time. For example, springs, clips, or inserts can be checked for correct positioning and quantity. Laser marking ensures clear traceability throughout the entire product lifecycle – a key advantage, especially for safety-critical components.

Spectral color measurement for inspecting plastic surfaces – reproducible color testing for design and functional components

Color Accuracy as a Quality Standard in Injection Molding

Precise color measurement is a critical aspect of quality assurance for injection-molded plastic parts—especially for visible components in industries such as automotive, medical technology, and consumer goods. Even during the sampling phase, we assess color accuracy using spectrophotometric methods and document all results according to CIELAB standards.

In serial production, trained personnel perform regular color inspections. Color values are objectively measured, compared against limit samples, and influencing factors such as material batch, pigmentation, and processing temperature are taken into account.

Through standardized procedures and documented testing processes, we ensure consistent color and appearance across large production volumes—a key quality factor in many applications.

FAQ

How is quality ensured for plastic parts?

Our quality assurance for plastic components is fully integrated into the production process. Dimensional accuracy, shape fidelity, and functionality are monitored through visual inspections, part-specific inspection plans, and optical measurement during injection molding – documented, traceable, and tailored to your requirements.

What inspection technologies do you use in injection molding?

We rely on advanced inspection technologies in plastic injection molding, including a high-resolution optical measurement system from Keyence, which performs non-contact measurements and precisely evaluates even complex geometries. This is complemented by visual inspections, mechanical gauges, and custom testing fixtures.

Do you meet the inspection standards of the automotive industry?

Yes – our quality assurance meets VDA and PPAP requirements. We create custom inspection plans for injection-molded parts, conduct initial sample inspection reports (ISIR), and document inspection processes according to the standards of the automotive and supplier industries.

Do you also inspect and document assembled units?

Yes – each plastic assembly is tested according to defined process instructions. Visual checks, functional tests, and optional documented inspection steps ensure the quality of the complete unit. Upon request, we provide documentation for series release or customer approval.

What information is needed for a quality-assured quote?

For a quality-assured quote in plastic injection molding, we need 3D data, material specifications, tolerances, quantities, and the desired inspection criteria or applicable standards (e.g., VDA, PPAP). This enables us to align production and quality assurance precisely with your project.

Better safe than sorry – we test what matters.

Our quality assurance is your guarantee for stable processes and reliable results.
